Student Parking for the 2013/2014 Academic Year

General student resident and commuter parking is located at the 1 Western Ave garage.
Residential parking is : $3,300
Commuter parking is: $1,704

There may be some Harvard Housing properties that have parking available for their residents that is closer please inquire with the Harvard Parking Services.

Regardless of whether you are a new or renewing student parker, you must show the following documents in order to be issued your permit:

  • Valid Harvard ID. If no photo ID has yet been issued, please be prepared to show driver's license, and documentation stating your affiliation with the University (course registration, University housing agreement, etc.)
  • Valid vehicle registration in your name, your parent's name, or your spouse's name. If the last name on the registration does not match your last name, please be prepared to show documentation stating your legal connection with the vehicle (insurance papers stating your name and the vehicle plate, etc.)
  • Housing agreement or lease. This is needed if you are a resident of Harvard-affiliated housing.

 Students Who Renewed Online

  • You MUST pick up your actual parking hang tag at the Parking Office. Renewing without picking up your permit is an incomplete process. Permits for 2013/2014 will be available for purchase beginning June 17, 2013. Please visit our Directions & Maps page for more info.
  • Your annual permit is not valid until July 1, 2013. If you arrive back to campus and need to park before your permit becomes valid, you may purchase a temporary permit for an additional fee. Please inquire about this when picking up your annual permit. Permits that are valid for the 2013/2014 academic year that are displayed before July 1, 2013 are subject to ticket and/or tow.
  • You will not be charged for your permit until you pick it up. You may pay for your permit by term bill, credit card, or check. Payment is due up front when you pick up your permit, in full.

Please email Parking Services prior to picking up your permit if you have any questions regarding parking on campus. 

Any student with an outstanding citation balance will not be issued a permit until all fees are paid.

New Student Parkers

  • You may fill out an application at the Parking office, or you may click here for a PDF application, which you can either submit by e-mail or bring into the Parking office when you pick up your permit. Please visit our Directions & Maps page for more info. Please note that submitting an application ahead of your arrival on campus will not reserve a parking permit.

Parking for Student Residents of Harvard University Housing Properties

  • Housing agreement or lease. All residents of Harvard University Housing must provide this documentation in order to be considered for on-site parking. Without this documentation, students will be placed in the One Western Ave. garage.

Harvard University Parking maintains garages and uncovered lots close to many Harvard University Housing facilities. In general, residents should apply for parking in the facility associated with their property; proof of residency is required for the permit to be issued. If no parking is available at that facility, a parking representative will work with you to find another location. All Harvard University Housing residents are eligible to request a permit for the One Western Avenue garage.
